Qing Chen Shian Full Day Hike
Bring comfortable walking or hiking shoes for this strenuous all day hike. We depart by local bus from Qing Chen Shian train station, a 20-minute drive up winding hills to the base of Qing Chen Shian mountain, where we will depart on our scenic hike. Bring water and snacks as we will be stopping at any one of the numerous waterfalls along the way to rest and catch our breath. There are wonderful bridges and overpasses that will take us as we walk along the waterway to the midway point of the mountain. Along the way there are several tiny villages, some with only a few families living there, a fun barge to help us cross a small pond, and many places to stop for lunch. From here we will take the gondola to where we can reach the White Cloud Buddhist Temple, where, should you make it to the top, you will be rewarded with a gold medal (that you can buy) and smiles by the Buddhist monks that live there to mark the completion of your journey. Then we walk down, all the way to where we started out, for local shopping and a meal. This hike takes all day and you will be tired at the end, but happy with lots of photos to remember your visit by.
