Pisa Tour: The Leaning Tower and the Field of Miracles

Pisa 02:30hs 20 max. 0 reviews

The Field of Miracles is the city of Pisa's focal point and contains a trio of symbolic sights. After a brief introduction to the ancient origin of Pisa and its development as a Maritime Republic in XI century, we will discover the symbols of its glorious past: -The Cathedral (Duomo), a triumph of the Pisan Romanesque style -The Baptistery, enobled by Nicola Pisano's pulpit and with fabulous acoustics; -The Graveyard, with its beautiful Medieval frescoes by Bufalmacco and ancient Roman sarcophagi decorated with mithological scenes; -The most famous Bell Tower, which has been leaning since XII century (Unesco World Heritage Site) Seeing the Leaning Tower's lopsided beauty may satisfy, but to do it justice you can climb the 293 steps at a five-degree angle to the top for views over the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea. If you wish to climb it, I can do the reservation and pay for the ticket in advance ( only 30 persons every 20 minuts are allowed to climb the tower). It costs 18,00 euro per person.
