I'm LocalGuiding's founder. In 2010 while working as a tour guide for an incoming agency, I realized that every time when I picked up a client for a tour it's like a blind date: We both do not know anything from each other: What kind of person is he, what are the expectations, etc. The client booked me via travel agents and so wasn’t able to contact me directly and couldn’t inform me about his travel interests and wishes. So I came upon the idea of LocalGuiding, the idea of connecting travellers with locals in a new, more personal way: Each tour on LocalGuiding has a face, a real person with an own story behind it. I think that makes the whole experience more authentic.
