Tours in Netherlands
Cycle out of the city into the country side!
There are two directions to cycle to that get you to quite a different scenery: there is an area north of the city called Waterland, where you find the most pictoresk little towns while passing the typical cow pastures and water. The little towns are scattered and all connected by several bike paths, so we can easily tailor the tour to how much you would like to cycle. Cycling an hour out of the city will already give you a good sense of this region. West of the city is another green area that will lead you to a unique tiny town that has been completely squatted in the seventies, because everyone had moved out. The town, called Ruigoord, which consists of two streets, has been an arts community for decades and is definitely unlike anything you will see in Amsterdam, or the rest of Holland. The ride over there takes approx. an hour and goes through an interesting mix of nature (with wild cows!) and the typical (harbour-related) factories that tend to end up outside of major cities.
Cultural cross-over (and you decide!)
I would love to tailor this tour to your personal interests. We can explore different neighbourhoods with different historic backgrounds, I just want to know your specific interests to make this tour the most interesting for you. Regarding history and architecture I am thinking of a mix of the 17th Century canal houses and the later Jordaan area which was originally built as a working class neighbourhood, and the modern-day face and feel of these parts of the city. We will pass many churches, courtyards and pretty alleys - and history!
The Hague (Vintage) Fashion and Shopping Trip
Discover the hidden fashion gems of The Hague with free style and fitting advice. I will guide you on this walking trip through the Denneweg and the small streets in the neighbourhood, where we find several vintage fashion shops, but also many small fashion shops that offer a wide variety in design clothing and accessoires, small antique stores and many characteristic restaurants and cafés. The trip can start or end with a tasty lunch or drinks!
Traditional architecture: Zaanse Schans
If what you want is to visit the typical wooden houses, the wonderful dutch windmills and taste the famous cheeses, this is the place to be with ME! It will feel like you walk in an area that didn't change since 18th century.

Local Tour : NDSM, Westerdok, Jordaan
I offer unique non-standard tours through the beautiful and lively city of Amsterdam. During the tour I will show you my favourite parts of the city, especially the locations which are not swamped with tourists! For example the NDSM-Shipyard, the Westerpark, the Jordaan area and the Red Light District. If there are specific locations you would like to visit, it is possible to create a specially customized tour in order for you to enjoy everything Amsterdam has to offer. During the tour I can give you recommendations for other places to go to during your stay in Amsterdam, such as interesting museums, must-see art galleries, amazing architecture, shopping areas, restaurants and bars. But I can also tell you more about the city’s history, housing and more, so that you won’t miss a thing of this lovely city! WHAT’S DIFFERENT? Don’t just join those herds of tourists who only visit the cliché parts of the city. There is so much more to explore! I offer you informal tours and meet ups which are great if you have just arrived in Amsterdam or if you already did some sightseeing. I can answer your questions about the things you have seen in the city and I will try to explain our weird Dutch culture (more or less). Even locals enjoyed exploring the city with me and were amazed about the things they didn’t know. So locals, let me try to surprise you in your own city! ABOUT ME During the last two years as a host for AirBNB, I have had the pleasure to introduce many guests from all over the world to the vibrant capital of Holland. I live in a nice apartment just outside the centre of Amsterdam, a perfect spot to explore the city. Over the years I opened my home to more than 200 guests, of which many were interested in learning more about Holland, Amsterdam and Dutch culture. This is why I started to offer unique, local tours for my guests. It has become a great hobby of mine, which both me and my guests enjoy very much. For this reason I have decided to become a local guide in Amsterdam for everyone who likes to have a unique, non-standard tour of Amsterdam!
