Warsaw Behind the Scenes
The idea of the tour is to let you get to know Warsaw and make friends with it. You will feel its atmosphere, taste its flavours and understand its complicated history. Our means of transport will be a sheer communist FSO 125p car which will let you feel the old times. With the car we will drive you through the times – we will explore some of the remains of the pre-war city and compare them with monumental post-war communist constructions. To experience the spirit of Warsaw we will visit a vodka bar, an old micro-bakery with delicious donuts and have a lunch in a common peoples' bar. Explore Warsaw off the tourist track!
Firemen night patrol
Let us take you for an extraordinary firemen night patrol! We will combine sightseeing with visitig the best Warsaw bars and pubs. Our tour will give you the unique experience of the city we fell in love with! Our vehicle will be a Communist fire fighting van “Żuk”, retired from a fire brigade just a few months ago. We will pick you up from your hotel around 7.30 pm. Having collected the whole fire brigade we will start our patrol by checking on the tallest skyscraper in Warsaw – the Palace of Culture and Science. You will have the chance to learn the basics about our history and to realize in front of which part of Uncle Stalin's body you stand. After the first reconnaisance we will have to extinguish the fire in ourselves – so we will take you to a cool pub in order to taste delicious Polish beer from a local micro brewery. Our second action will take us to the Communist city – with huge squares and wide streets. We will show you the difference between the pre-war belle epoque Warsaw and the crazy communist ideas from 1950s. It's worth comparing, trust us. Having undergone communist indoctrination, you will need a shot of Polish vodka with a herring as an appetizer! In order to fulfill this tradition we will take you to the best round-the-clock shot bar in the city, mix with the locals and most probably drink a toast with strangers. But don't you dare feeling too relaxed! Remember that we're on duty and there's one more district that awaits our inspection – Praga, the forgotten one. A district famous for alternative culture and notorius for petty thiefs. The only one which was not touched by Nazi devastation of 1944. We will show you forgotten streets and courtyards to let you imagine and understand the living conditions of the past. Finally, the 2,5-hour fire patrol will take us to the coolest and most alternative pub in Warsaw! Being already off-duty you will have another shot of Polish vodka or liqueur (we recommend a sweet one this time) which will help you rest a bit. After the last stop we will drive you safely back to your hotel.
Communism trip
We will pick the guests up from the hotel in our original socialist-style van of historical value, i.e. Nysa 522. We will take you for a unique trip through the legacy of the Polish socialism. Not only will we see the places connected with it, but we will experience them as well. We will start with the first square ever to be built especially for the working people, i.e. the Constitution Square (Plac Konstytucji). Here you will feel the propaganda of the socialist era. Next we will go towards the seat of the Ministry of Agriculture, where you will have a chance to get to know the utopian plans of the post-war city reconstruction. Our next stop will be the Palace of Culture and Science – the gift from “Uncle” Stalin will reveal its secrets for you. We will not miss the very heart of socialism, i.e. the old seat of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party (in Polish: “Dom Partii” – “The House of the Party”). We will take you to a typical housing estate and to a flat furnished in the socialistic style. Here you will be kindly invited to taste a typical refreshment of the workers from that by-gone era, i.e. a shot of vodka, a slice of bread with lard and pickles. Not only will you see how people used to live in those times, but you will also have a unique opportunity to watch the propaganda films of the 1950s. After all these attractions we will take you back to your hotel.
