Things to do in Montreal: This is a tongue-in-cheek visit to some very famous and traditional agricultural and historic places outside Montreal. We will try award winning wine in Vaudreuil, and visit a historic world renowned maple sugar farm in Rigaud where we will have time for lunch. After a short ferry ride across the Lake of Two mountains we will drive through the Oka Indian reservation before stopping at the Abby of Oka to buy local products including the internationally celebrated Oka cheese. Our last stop will be in the lower Laurentians to visit a bee museum where we can see honey making and try mead ( an ancient alcoholic drink made from honey). Time permiting we will stop at the Lachine canal museum where we will learn about the historic fur trade that openned up Canada over 400 years ago.
